We’ve noticed that more and more people seem to be working from home. They may not be working from home every day but we hear more and more people are negotiating this with their bosses. We think the trend will continue. As someone who works from home and has a great commission mindset, it can be difficult to rub elbows with others who may not know Christ. No contact equals no impact. So recently, we started asking a neighbor to grab lunch from time to time. We haven’t committed to a standing appointment but it’s a way to learn more about him and show interest in getting to know them on a deeper level. Granted, it’s taken many months to get to this point where I feel like this wasn’t an awkward or and “out of the blue” invitation. But, it occurred to me that this would be a logical next step. And, it’s not one that has to involve the whole family and getting schedules to sync. So, if you’re looking for an idea on what to do next to deepen a relationship, this is a good option.
